HON AJALA HOSTS BOXERS FROM ODIOLOWO OJUWOYE LCDA WHO MADE THE COUNTRY PROUD IN THE ALL AFRICAN GAMES.

Hon Ajala today hosted Boxers from Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA who just returned from the All African Games where they represented Nigeria in Morocco.
The contingents of 5 boxers, 3 male, two female, the Coach and the winner of the Lagos Kiddies championship were in the office of the chairman.
Presenting the Boxers to the chairman and his cabinet members in his office, their Coach, Daniel Adekunle popularly called Ashimota thanked the chairman for hosting them.
He said there were 10 Boxers who represented the country out of which 7 got to the semifinal. He said five of them are from Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.
Welcoming them, Hon Ajala praised them for the success they attained. He said they have indeed made both the LCDA and Lagos state proud and Nigeria as whole.
According to him:"Boxing is a veritable tools to achieve peaceful coexistence among the people of the LCDA. It is also a way of directing the energy of the youth to something beneficial.
He continued: "The narrative out there is that nothing good come out of Mushin/Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye but with successes like this, people would know we indeed have something worthwhile to show.
"If out of ten boxers who represented the country are from our local council, it speaks the quantum of talents inherent in our youth, he said.
He thanked their Coach Mr Daniel Adekunle popularly called Ashimota for using his skills and talents God bestowed on him to help and encouraged the youth to developed theirs and making them useful to themselves, their parents, family and the larger community.
He promised to continue to support all sporting activities in the local council development area with the resources at its disposal.
He encouraged the Boxers to work harder next time so they can come home with more medals not only in Africa but at the global competitions such as Olympic.
The medalist are AbdulHafis Osoba who won Silver medal in male 69kg category. Two female boxers, Osoba Elizabeth, 57kg female category who won bronze medal and Aishat Oriyomi Morenikeji, 51kg female category.
Chairman later presented with cash award to appreciate them for their effort.
Other people at the event were the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon Seyi, Jakande, Secretary to the local government, Hon Mujeeb Ayinde Daramola, Leader of the legislative arms, Hon Taoreed Ajenifuja, Head of Admins, Alhaji Shakirudeen Omotayo, Council Treasurer, Mr Shuaib Badmus some Councillors and supervisors.
